What is really good sex for me uniquely? What do I have to do--or not--to make it happen? What is the relation of sex to who I am? And the rest of my life?
The School of Really Good Sex is a place to play, think and learn more about these questions. We provide an inclusive, safely held, experientially based, above all creative, informed and ethical alternative to what is currently on offer in the contemporary Australian landscape. Our classes and workshops offer opportunities for sexual growth and expansion.
Upcoming Workshops and Festivals
For the first time in our seven year history we will be presenting Really Good Sex in Melbourne. The festival will happen from Friday evening 23rd June until Sunday night 25th June at Pulse Brunswick, 1 Pitt Street, Brunswick.
There will be over 20 participatory workshops, performances, talks, rituals and celebrations over two days and three nights.
What happens when things don’t work? When they break down? How do you deal with rejection? Abandonment? Humiliation? Mourning and loss? How do you cope with having deeply hurt someone?
Rarely acknowledged on the surface, these questions in truth are inseparable from those of really good sex. They are like its underside or shadow. There is no really good sex without the possibility of bad sex, and for this reason it is necessary in a certain way to explore it.
Art and literature have recognized the connection between sexuality and madness for millennia. Yet, in the modern Western discourses, both within the field of adult sex education and psy-care system (e.g. psychiatry, psychology, psychotherapy), the two are more than uneasy companions.
This workshop will offer an invitation to bring sexuality and madness together. It will make space to think madness/distress alongside sex and sexuality; to think WITH sex and madness.
Expansion is new wholistic combined workshop and play party in Sydney, which will take place for the first time on Sat-Sun, 10-11th June at The Sanctuary, 191 Parramatta Road, Annandale.
Our aim is to provide a space where you can experience the best of what a play party has to offer, while avoiding the usual pitfalls.
It combines a two hour "How to navigate a play party" workshop on the Saturday afternoon as well as the option of attending a two hour aftercare session on the Sunday.
The Festival of Love and Lust is a new festival with over 40 workshops and performances addressing love and sexuality from the point of view of embodiment and relationships. The full program will be announced in July.
The festival will happen at 107 Projects, Redfern.
The Sydney Festival of Really Good Sex is the most progressive, inclusive and exploratory sexuality event in the Southern Hemisphere. It offers over 40 participatory workshops, performances, talks, rituals and celebrations over three days.
Deepen the work of the festival by attending the post-festival residential retreat in a bush setting at Kangaroo Valley.
The Retreat allows for organic creativity where the participants play a role in developing the program under the guidance of experienced teachers dedicated to play and pleasure.
There is a minimal structure of two daily high quality, organic catered meals, and an optional breath or movement class every morning. The class offers the opportunity to ground yourself and connect with the group. Everything else is not planned, but develops from day to day, according to the wishes and needs of the participants. There is no structure unless it is wanted.
Everyone has the opportunity to propose and facilitate classes, activities, scenarios or sessions, themes interest groups or classes, experiments or workshops. Naturally, there is no obligation to participate in anything.
